Professionally published books need a production schedule and a strategic marketing campaign.  BookEnds Consulting specializes in guiding small and midsize independent presses throughout this process.  Our goal is to try to help you reach as many booksellers and special markets as possible. 

Some examples of these services are listed below.  This is not a comprehensive list, so feel free to contact us if there is something that you need that is not listed below:
    • Filing basic publisher registrations and applications such as LOC, CIP, BIP, ISBN, PCN, etc.
    • Provide project management services (for example, development, editing, proofreading, design, and production of manuscripts)
    • Utilize our existing abilities, skills, and prior experiences to guide your company throughout the publishing process (e.g., determine what needs to be done so that all published titles meet the general standards and requirements that are recognized throughout the book publishing industry) 
    • Identify markets to reach target audiences (e.g., research and recommend advertising opportunities, recommend appropriate exhibiting venues, etc.)
    • Research and book speaking gigs and book signing opportunities
    • Research and approach Web sites to exchange links
    • Provide event planning services
    • Recommend and submit applications for literary awards and prizes in order to increase visibility and sales of books
    • Develop and implement a publicity campaign OR assist an existing PR team with the creation and implementation of a regional or national PR and media campaign
    • Create and implement a grassroots marketing campaign in conjunction with your PR team (e.g., submit articles to Web sites, magazines, and other print and Web-based media outlets)
    • Assist with the development and promotion of a new or existing Web site and e-zine (e.g., submit articles and links to online directories, blogs, databases, and e-zines)
    • Create and maintain database(s) of current and past clients
    • Coordinate the development, design, and printing of marketing collateral pieces such as flyers, postcards, brochures, and other promotional items and book-related merchandise
    • Obtain distribution (if none exists) for your company’s published books
    • Work with existing or new book distributor to increase sales efforts to store buyers (e.g., submit Publicity Update forms, Tip Sheets, and Title Template forms, maintain an open line of communication with Distributor’s sales reps)
    • Establish book fulfillment solutions
    • Create print specs, obtain print bids, and manage print projects
